Two of my passions are aviation and art. My goal is to tell a story by merging computer models with photographic backgrounds. Researching the history, aircraft, location, and details all in an attempt at capturing the visceral excitement of aerial combat.
I grew up in the Detroit suburb of Canton, Michigan and showed an early knack for art. Winning the top artist award in elementary school and progressed through middle and high school, eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Kentucky.
I landed a job as a production artist and advanced to 3D designer. Today I am a 3D designer of trade show exhibits at a firm near Atlanta.
I am a huge fan of aviation art, beautiful imagery made with oil and canvas. Being more creative with the computer than the brush, I would have to merge aviation and art in a different way. My first attempts were “Screen Shot Art”, using flight sim airplanes with real world backgrounds and combining them. Simple at first, then progressing to multilayered highly complex scenes. The natural progression was to 3D digital aircraft, allowing for far greater detail and control of the planes and their environment.
I am happily married for twenty plus years now, with eighteen year old twins (girl/boy) and a thirteen year old son living in the north Atlanta area.
